The Royal Gramma Basslet is a colorful addition to any saltwater aquarium. Native to the reefs of the Caribbean, the Royal Gramma Basslet prefers extensive rockwork with caves so it can hide. Due to it being more of a deepwater fish it prefers a somewhat subdued lighting. Since it demonstrates territorial aggression towards its own kind, the Royal Gramma Basslet should be in a tank alone. However, the majority of Royal Gramma Basslets are peaceful towards tankmates that are similar in size and temperament. They are most successful in aquarium systems of 30 gal or larger. Since it is a carnivore, feed a varied diet of marine fish, crustacean flesh, mysis shrimp, and quality frozen preparations.
