Four Eye Butterflies (Small 1-2 inches)

The Four Eye Butterfly gets its name for the two false eyes located on both sides of their body just in front of their caudal fin. It has also been known to swim upside down, and occasionally squirt water above the waterline. The Four Eye Butterfly is peaceful, most commonly found in shallow waters around coral reefs alone or in bonded pairs, who form a lifelong partnership. Most active during the day, they change color and seek shelter for sleep in the evening, as they are highly vulnerable to larger predators. The tank you put your butterfly in should be full of peaceful tank mates. Known for being hardheaded, the Four Eye Butterfly can be somewhat difficult to entice at first. To encourage eating, offer live, brine shrimp, clam, and squid or shrimp. Once eating regularly, you can begin feeding frozen brine shrimp.

Ordered three of these guys and they all get along and like to school together. Graceful swimmers and very intriguing to watch.

    Attractive and non-aggressive

This is a handsome little guy with a lot of personality. He's very active in the tank exploring and swimming the full length of the tank, back and forth. I am wondering if this guy is actually reef safe because I have seen him picking at one of my corals, but it's hard to tell if he's picking something off or actually trying to eat from it. He's shown no aggressive tendencies toward his tankmates beyond a little curiosity.
