Giant Hermit Crab
This little fellow is also known as a Strawberry Hermit crab due to it's beautiful coloring. Not only do they make a great pet, but they are excellent for tank clean up.

I was expecting little 1/2 inch crabs for the price, but no, when I received them (I ordered two) the smallest one has to be at least 1 1/2 inches! the other one is almost an inch larger. I was afraid that the larger one was dead, but after acclimation, it moved around alot. Both are very active and healthy! They clean efficiently, even in high places I have no idea how they could reach with their small claws and short bodies. Thank you! (P.S., this was my first buy from this site)
Update:
less than 5 days later, and one is dead-for no reason. was feeding them all the right foods, yet Hermes still died. The big guy isn't doing so hot. also, either hermit crabs molt often, or Bits of actual crab are strewn about the fish tank.....??????No other aggressive animals in the tank, all I have are Dwarf Seahorses. Checked water level, temperature, PH, Nitrites, Nitrates, and ammonia, plus gravity of salt water. Dead for no reason-and was eating the specially-made pellets I am feeding them before he died. Can't think of anything else. Seahorses are fine. The crayfish that I feed pellets to that are the same brand as the hermit crab food is fine. Food smells normal, and looks normal-plus it is brand-new. Looked this up online and there was NOTHING!!!!Now all I can do is get more hermit crabs-just not from this site, from a local fish store. What else can ya do?
