Atlantic Long Arm Octopus (Medium)

Scientific name...................Macrotritopus defilippi

Size.................Head size about 1.5-2"". Full grown about 2-3"" head size. All the octopus we get here will be happy in a 50 gallon tank or less.

Important Notes............Octopus do very well here and I've had tanks with several for over a month and have not lost one. But in shipping they are very sensitive and will sometimes ink or just die before arriving. Also they are very sensitive to new water and need a VERY slow one to two hour acclamation.

Reef safe.................Love to eat crustaceans and small fish.

Diet...........Will eat just about everything in your tank. Larger fish usually OK

Compatibility.............Best in a sealed (they will climb out) tank by themselves. Make great pets. Acclimate very slowly. Sensitive to some synthetic salts.

How Common to this area.............Usually have them in stock Oct to May. The rest of the year they are hard to get.
