Snowflake Eel (large)
Snowflake Eel (large)
Snowflake Eels (Echidna nebulosa) are very hardy eels, but can be escape artists. A 50 gallon or larger aquarium with abundant live rock and a good fitting top is needed. The Snowflake Eel is safe to house with any fish that can not easily be swallowed. They are good with most invertebrates but not ok with crustaceans. In the wild, Snowflake Eels are nocturnal predators that use an ambushing technique to catch fish and crustaceans. In the tank, it will take frozen or freeze-dried krill, fish, shrimp, and most meaty foods.
