Tank Raised Seahorse 2 Pack

The Lined Seahorse, Hippocampus erectus, is considered by many hobbyists to be the most attractive of all the seahorses. These are young and the size is about 2-3 inches. The coloration of these tank raised seahorses range from shades of black, to gray to brown. Their coloration may change in the aquarium, and is highly dependent on the colors of its environment.  As they mature and become ready to mate the male lined seahorse dance around, show off his pouch and may have color changes.  If the female is interested they will tangle tails and dance as she deposits up to 600 eggs in his pouch.  It usually takes about 2 weeks then the male will birth as many 50 to 400 babies.

These are tank raised seahorses already acclimated to living in an aquarium environment and they have been trained to eat frozen brine shrimp.  The brine shrimp are gut loaded with a product called SELCO BOOST. It has omega 3 and multiple vitamins along with an appetite stimulant.  I suggest having a bottle of this available when they arrive.  Add an extra squirt to the shrimp as they thaw out to help jump start them feeding in their new home.

Looking for a friendly companion for your seahorses? Try a reef pipefish or a banded pipefish.

    Absolutely great!!!

Absolutely awesome addition to the tank. Got my pair a few weeks ago and both of them arrived in excellent condition and are still doing fantastic. Getting the tank raised variety was well worth it. Both are so familiar with the coral feeder tube full of mysis shrimp that they will chase it around the tank. Amazing creatures, much thanks.

I took a while and researched this item before i ordered it. I wanted to add them to my tank with and existing pair of seahorses. at first i was concerned because they looked rather young when i first open the package. But to my surprise as son as i received after acclimation. At the first feeding they were eating took to the frozen mysis and brine shrimp right away. they are growing and enjoying there new home its been two months and the fish are doing great!! and the other sea horses are enjoying there new companions. thanks Jason for once again for quality service.
