Also known as the Flame Box Crab or Flame Streaked Box Crab, this striking species features a rounded, armored body with bold flame-like red and orange markings. Native to Caribbean sandy bottoms, Fountain Crabs are nocturnal burrowers that spend the day hidden in the sand and become active hunters at night. They thrive on meaty foods such as shrimp, clams, and other shellfish and are best kept in fish-only or specialty systems without other invertebrates.
