The Aquacultured Ocellaris Clownfish (Amphiprion ocellaris) is one of the most iconic and beginner-friendly fish in the saltwater hobby, known for its bright coloration and hardy nature. Sporting a vivid orange body with three clean white bars outlined in black, this classic clownfish adds instant personality and familiar reef appeal to almost any aquarium.
Tank-raised and aquacultured, this Ocellaris Clownfish is well adapted to captive life and typically hardier and less prone to stress than wild-caught specimens. It thrives in a wide range of aquarium setups and does not require a host anemone, though it may naturally associate with anemones, corals, or other tank décor if available. Generally peaceful, it does best alone or as part of a bonded pair, though mild territorial behavior can develop as it matures.
This species is fully reef safe and won’t harm corals or most invertebrates. Aquacultured Ocellaris Clownfish readily accept a variety of foods, including frozen mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, finely chopped seafood, and high-quality pellets or flakes. Their durability, manageable size, and engaging behavior make them a top choice for both new hobbyists and seasoned reef keepers.
