Orange Frilly Sponge

Orange Frilly Sponge (Agelasidae sp.)

This vibrant orange sponge adds beautiful color and unique texture to Caribbean and tropical reef aquariums. Orange Frilly Sponges are sessile, non-photosynthetic filter-feeders that draw water through their porous bodies to capture plankton and other microscopic organic particles. They prefer shaded areas with moderate to strong water movement and stable, mature aquarium conditions. Provide plenty of room for growth and a suitable surface such as live rock for attachment. Their bright coloration and unusual frilly growth form make them an eye-catching addition to established reef aquariums.
