The Caribbean Orange Spot File (Cantherhines pullus) is a unique and colorful addition to any saltwater aquarium. With its sleek body, subtle stripes, and eye-catching orange spots, this peaceful fish brings personality and elegance to your tank.
Native to Caribbean reefs, Orange Spot Files enjoy plenty of live rock and hiding spots to explore. They are generally peaceful toward other fish but may be shy at first, often retreating into crevices when stressed. Over time, they become confident and display their full vibrant coloration. They may show signs of aggression towards fish of its own genus. We typically find them in our area in the Springtime.
This species is hardy and adaptable, readily accepting a diet of meaty frozen foods like mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and finely chopped seafood, along with high-quality pellets. Their calm temperament, manageable size, and striking appearance make them a great choice for both beginner and experienced hobbyists.
