The Caribbean Yellow Stingray (Urobatis jamaicensis) is a stunning and graceful addition to large saltwater aquariums. Known for its vibrant yellow to golden body, rounded shape, and smooth, undulating swimming style, this species adds elegance and movement to the sandy bottom of your tank.
Native to shallow Caribbean reefs, sandy flats, and seagrass beds, Yellow Stingrays appreciate a deep sand bed for burrowing and plenty of open space to glide. They are generally peaceful and do well with non-aggressive tank mates, though care should be taken to avoid smaller fish that may fit in their mouth.
This species is hardy and adapts well to captivity, readily accepting a carnivorous diet of meaty frozen foods such as shrimp, chopped seafood, and small crustaceans. Its striking coloration, gentle demeanor, and bottom-dwelling habits make it a captivating choice for experienced hobbyists with large fish-only or FOWLR aquariums.
